Psoriasis Makeup // How to Cover Face Psoriasis

If you have dealt with plaque psoriasis like I have then you know just how uncomfortable and irritating it can be. Add in face psoriasis and you’ve got yourself an even more uncomfortable situation that might even affect your self-esteem. It’s not easy to have psoriasis on your face not just because it itches and flakes, but also because you might be concerned about your appearance. If you want some psoriasis makeup tips and tricks then you are in the right place! While I am not a doctor or dermatologist, I can provide my personal experience with using psoriasis makeup that you may find helpful. I have suffered from face psoriasis on and off for many years so I have lots of psoriasis makeup information to share with you. Make sure you read on to find out how to cover face psoriasis.When not to cover face psoriasis I would not recommend psoriasis makeup if you are dealing with a really intense flare or if you have any open plaques. Honestly, if you can avoid putting makeup on then that would be best as it could exacerbate your psoriasis. When in doubt, speak with your doctor or dermatologist. They will be the best person to ask if it would be ok to apply psoriasis makeup and how often they would advise you to wear it.Skincare products for psoriasis Let’s not forget the key to any face of makeup, proper skincare. This is even more vital for psoriasis sufferers. I prefer MG217 Medicated Moisturizing Psoriasis Cream or CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for Psoriasis Treatment. Both of these creams have Salicylic Acid as the key ingredient so if you want to try something else, grab for products with this in them. Follow your moisturizer up with a primer and you are ready for your psoriasis makeup application. If you are looking for more face psoriasis recommendations, make sure to check out my blog HEREPsoriasis Makeup – Less is more When in doubt less product will work the best to cover face psoriasis. Because you are likely dealing with extremely dry and textured skin, the less product you use, the better it is going to look. I have a couple different suggestions based on the type of coverage you are looking for so I will separate them out below. 1. Light Coverage Psoriasis Makeup For light coverage, I recommend using a color-correcting product like Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment. Use this product all over your face to help calm down the redness in your skin while also creating a uniform color base to work with. 2. More Coverage Psoriasis Makeup If you are looking for a heavier psoriasis makeup coverage then I suggest a two-step base. This is basically taking the previous step of one single product and splitting it in two. First, you will want to color-correct the redness in your skin with a color-correcting product. You could use the same treatment I previously mentioned or grab any drugstore color corrector. This color corrector from NYX will do the job and it’s under $3. Next, you will use a liquid foundation and apply it with a damp beauty blender. Using a wet makeup sponge will help keep your face moisturized and even out the foundation distribution. Whichever method you choose, I highly recommend staying away from any powder-based products or matte finishes. Here in San Diego it means the flowers are starting to bloom and the occasional rain is over, and of course – Plus Size Spring Fashion! I have been taking advantage of the nice weather and getting out and about with some new plus size spring outfits and going antique shopping. I have also been getting into some more crafting that I can’t wait to share with you. So without further ado, let’s dive into all things spring!1. Plus Size Spring Dress PLUS SIZE SPRING DRESS | $80 | Up to size 38/40 This gorgeous fit-and-flare dress is to die for and perfect for plus size spring outfits. It is made with a super soft knit fabric that’s so comfy and luxurious. Oh, by the way, it has pockets! Something to note is the length was perfect for me but might be short for my taller friends. Plus Size Feather Pajamas for Spring PLUS SIZE FEATHER PAJAMAS | $128 | Up to size 5X Experience comfort and style with this night set with feathers. The long-sleeved top and wide-leg pants provide a perfect fit with an elastic waistband. Enjoy a peaceful night in this luxurious night set. I’ve truly never seen something like this before and can’t wait for more designs in the future.4. Spring Antique Finds I found the cutest items at La Mesa Antique Mall, and they look so good displayed on my TV stand. Shopping for items that need a new home is such a fun time and it always feels like a treasure hunt! My favorite of all the pieces from this shopping trip is an adorable bunny cookie jar – I even found some items for sale that are similar HERE and HERE. I’m also in love with the delicate and ornate Fabergé eggs, they are the perfect complement to the bunny cookie jar. And I was also able to find some adorable egg trinkets that are just as adorable HERE and HERE. DIY Rosette Tapered Candle for Spring This candle painting project was so easy, all it takes is a little bit of patience. There are only a few supplies you need: candles, paintbrushes and a lighter. Make sure you are using paintbrushes you don’t mind ruining because you’re likely going to singe the bristles on the flame. Follow the step-by-step video below to see how I made these candles look like they are covered with tiny little roses! Hi Fly Friends, I’m so excited about the new plus size swimwear options that are already hitting stores! I put together a roundup with a mix of different styles that also cater to different budgets for you to check out. Remember, plus size swimwear sells out quickly! If you see a style that you like, it’s most likely on sale right now for spring and won’t be again until swim season is over. Or it will sell out like hot cakes! I feel like with swim, it’s always better to buy early if you have your heart set on a specific style. Let’s get into it! 1. New Plus Size Swimwear STRAPLESS WATERCOLOR SUIT | $170 | Up to Size 28 No tan lines here, baby! I love a strapless option, and this watercolor print is so gorgeous. This suit does come with additional straps that you can add if you’re looking for that extra coverage. I love adding them when I’m getting into the water and taking them off to spend time in the sun or catch a tan. This suit is a great mix of pops of color that still manages to feel a bit neutral. Neutral but funky! It also comes with matching cover up style pants! There is also a ruched midi skirt option that is gorgeous as well! 2. Gold Chain Detail Suit GOLD CHAIN DETAIL SUIT | $170 | Up to Size 32 Speaking of neutral but funky, this suit is a great option for my neutral babes who love a fun statement piece! I love this abstract animal print and the gold chain details of the straps. the print is a mix of chocolate brown and olive green, which is so fun. The cups in this suit are defined on the outside. You can also snag this gorgeous matching cover up kaftan dress. I love when suits come with matching cover ups so that you can easily go from the water to a restaurant or run into a shop. Cover ups to transform a swimsuit into a chic outfit are the best. 3. Textured Pink Two Piece TEXTURED PINK TWO PIECE | $33 | Up to Size 3X The textured detail of this top is so cute! This suit definitely gives me a Y2K vibe, which I’m living for. I also love being able to find swimsuit bottoms in plus sizes that aren’t high waisted. While I love wearing high wasited suits, it’s nice to finally have other options for my babes who are more mid rise people. This suit comes in multiple colors. I think it would be fun to mix and match tops and bottoms for a colorblock look, too! 4. Leaf Print One Piece LEAF PRINT ONE PIECE | $45 | Up to Size 4X Of course, I have to include something with a tropical leaf print. I’m a sucker for prints that make you feel like your on a tropical vacation. This print is a little more abstract and less obvious. So fun! This also has great coverage in the front with nice support and a gorgeous cutout back with criss cross straps. 5. New Plus Size Swimwear BLACK WOVEN DETAIL BIKINI | $185 | Up to Size 32 This is a classic black bikini taken to the next level! I am in love with the woven details on this suit that make it look like it was sewn on the edges by a giant. The gold grommet details are so fun and add a bit of glam that I really enjoy. If you’re looking for the perfect black suit that will pair well with everything but still make a statement, this is it! 6. Fruit Print Bikini FRUIT PRINT BIKINI | $37 | Up to Size 3X This fruit print is so precious! Those are little strawberries on there. I love seeing plus size swim on plus size models in bright colors and fun prints. It really is healing for my plus size heart after years of the swim options being abysmal. I love the cheeky style of these bottoms, too! You can actually see how they’ll come up higher and show more leg on the model. They also make your bum look amazing! 7. Black Zipper Detail Suit BLACK ZIPPER DETAIL SUIT | $50 | Up to Size 4X This one is for my sporty chic babes. This suit is perfect for anyone with a sporty, preppy, or streetwear style. I feel like this can also fit into a vintage vibe. The zipper detail is so cute and functional so you can show as much or as little chest as you’d like. Throw on a tennis skort over this and you’re ready for beach sports in no time! 8. Purple Braided Halter Suit PURPLE BRAIDED HALTER SUIT | $160 | Up to Size 28 This breaded detail is everything! If you love a halter neckline, this is the suit for you. this color is gorgeous and gives such a fun but chic vibe. I love solid color suits because you can easily pair them with different coverups and add patterns that way. This would also be a great suit to wear as a bodysuit in the summer! Pro Tip: I always recommend halter necklines for my babes with smaller chests because, for my bigger chested friends, this can pull a lot on your neck if you tie it tight enough to give you the support you really need. 9. Tie Detail Swim Dress TIE DETAIL SWIM DRESS | $64 | Up to Size 4X Swim dresses are back, baby! I love this classic vintage style turned current. I remember when swim dresses and tankinis were all we could find in the plus size section. Look how far we’ve come! We’ve gone full circle and brought swim dresses back into style. We’re just that good. This is such a great suit and it comes in a bunch of different colors! Let this beauty dry and you’re good to go from beach to restaurant without adding anything. This suit really does it all. 10. New Plus Size Swimwear GREEN COLORBLOCK BIKINI | $36 | Up to Size 3X I am a sucker for color blocking! This suit is so fun. Plus, your hands are free to keep up with all your group texts and grip that vanilla latte.” I am in love with this pink color, additionally, this bag comes in many other colors to match any style. I love the size of this bag. Any of the “Rosie” styles from Kate Spade have a longer strap length making it one of my favorite plus size friendly crossbody bags! 4. Boho Print Strap Bag BOHO PRINT STRAP BAG | $36 | 53″ Strap “This crossbody bag is made of premium vegan leather, a fabric lining, and high quality gold hardware. This design comes with a metal zipper closure, main pocket, and back pocket anti-theft zipper design. It is double antitheft to protect your property safety. Also, without any weird smell. Leather is durable and easy to clean. Simply just wipe with water to keep this bucket bag looking new and durable.” This boho bag is so cute and surprisingly comes with two different strap options. The second one is shorter at 38″. But you can certainly use it as an extra extender to make one long strap that’s 91″ fully extended! 5. Green Nylon Bag GREEN NYLON BAG | $23 | 38″ Strap “This bag offers versatile wear options. Sling it over your shoulder or wear it crossbody to keep your hands free while you tackle your day. Due to the multi compartment design this bag could easily fit a DSLR camera and even more! 8. I’m so excited to see the weather change and welcome warmer days, especially for all of my babes who have been experiencing a ton of snow and low temps this winter! Wearing a flowy, bright, floral spring dress after months of being cooped up in the cold can do wonders for a Fly Friend. I put together a roundup featuring a mix of styles in different lengths and colorways for you to check out. Let me know if you end up snagging your first spring dress of the season from this post! 1. Plus Size Spring Dresses YELLOW LONG SLEEVE DRESS | $100 | Up to Size 32 I love this color yellow! The long sleeves make this the perfect transitional piece. You can still layer this with tights, boots, and a jacket at the end of winter. The color will really bring that spring feeling to the outfit. Once the weather gets warmer, just throw on a pair of sandals and your favorite denim jacket and you’re good to go. 2. I know that as plus size babes, sometimes we feel over the floral patterns. The only things we got from fashion were floral styles for the longest time. This spring print is more abstract and artsy. I think this would also be great for a more formal event like a baby shower or birthday. I love the puff sleeves and the ruching at the bust. 3. Pink V Neck Dress PINK V NECK DRESS | $70 | Up to Size 28 This color is gorgeous! Yes, it’s a solid color dress. But YOU will look like the beautiful bloom in this color. I made sure to choose an array of prints so that not everything is floral themed. The neckline, midi length, and sleeves make this dress the perfect “from work to the weekend” piece. You can easily dress this up for work with a blazer and booties. Take off the blazer and you’re ready for drinks after work. 4. Floral Tie Waist Dress FLORAL TIE WAIST DRESS | $70 | Up to Size 28 I love this floral pattern! This would make a gorgeous Easter dress. I love the sunset hues and the flowers remind me of a watercolor painting which is so gorgeous. I also love the longer sleeves and the tie at the waist. You can definitely wear this to a family party or to work. 5. Plus Size Spring Dresses RAINBOW PUFF SLEEVE DRESS | $148 | Up to Size 6X This rainbow dress is so gorgeous! The top pannel is stretchy, so there is a lot of extra room and stretch in this dress. And it goes up to 6X! I love the puff sleeves with more stretch fabric at the cuffs so that your arms don’t feel trapped by harsh elastic. The square neckline is super trendy right now. This dress is midi length and the rainbow stripes are such a fun way to bring color into your wardrobe. 6. Blue Tiered Dress BLUE TIERED DRESS | $70 | Up to Size 40 This ombre floral moment is so cute! This is another “from work to the weekend” dress. You can totally wear any of these dresses to an Easter outing, too! I like that the ombre is verticle as opposed to horizontal which we see all of the time. The flutter sleeves, the tiered skirt, the tie waist, and the keyhole neckline are fun details. 7. Orange Tiered Ombre Dress ORANGE TIERED OMBRE DRESS | $128 | Up to Size 6X Here’s the horizontal ombre I was talking about! This is the most precious orange creamsicle dress I have ever seen! The ruffle details between all of the tiers are really special. This dress has a more structured top and defined waist, but still keeps the soft elastic at the puff sleeves which I love. 8. Blue Gingham Dress BLUE GINGHAM DRESS | $188 | Up to Size 6X Behold, the ultimate picnic dress! This gorgeous number is fully gingham with floral embroidery and lace at all of the tiers on the skirt. The puff sleeves keep it feeling whimsical and the gingham print screams spring. The top of this dress is entirely stretchy as well. I think this is such a great addition to any spring wardrobe and can easily be dressed up or down. 9. Plus Size Spring Dress NAVY BLUE KNIT DRESS | $45 | Up to Size 4X This is for my Fly Friends who don’t love bright spring colors or pastels but still want the spring vibe. The cut and print of this dress still say spring and it’s so cute. It has a v-neckline, a stretchy waist pannel, and cap sleeves. This is such an easy dress to throw on last minute with sandals or booties. You can also dress it up for work with a blazer and some flats. Dress it down with white sneakers and a cardigan. This is such a great staple piece. 10. Floral Midi Dress FLORAL MIDI DRESS | $32 | Up to Size 4X This floral pattern is gorgeous! We’re moving away from the classic big flowers and into a more artistic and abstract floral print and I’m so glad. I love this new floral style, especially after only having big flower prints available for plus size babes for so long. This dress also has POCKETS which is always a plus in my book!
