Hi Fly Friends! If you’ve been here for a while, you know that I have psoriasis and love to share tips and tricks with you for other psoriasis babes and those of you with dry skin. If you want to read about my psoriasis journey click here! I’ve put together a list of all my top winter dry skin care products to get you through the upcoming cold weather months. All of these products have the official Flyforaginger seal of approval!

#1 Aquaphor for Dry Skin and Psoriasis

Aquaphor is a dry skin care must-have. It is seriously good for everything! Psoriasis plaques, cracked skin, dry lips and even healing tattoos. I always have Aquaphor all around my apartment and in my purse. Pro tip: get travel-sized tubes so you can keep them any and everywhere! For those of you who swear by Vaseline, I promise you this is a level up!

#2 Body Scrubs

I use this at the end of my showers to smooth out my skin. It makes my skin softer and keeps me from scratching as much. Using an exfoliating scrub like this followed by your favorite body moisturizer while your skin is still a bit damp from your shower is a game changer! Say goodbye to itchy after shower skin. Using lotion while your skin is still a bit wet helps lock the moisture in. Dry skin care pro tip: use it at the end of your shower as the oil in the scrub tends to make the bath very slippery. Safety first, Fly Friends!

Dry Skin Care Item #3 Foot Peels

I bet you have seen these foot peels and masks all over TikTok! My feet get super dry and scraggly in the winter so I love to do a foot peel every couple of months to keep my feet baby soft. Dry skin care pro tip: put on a pair of socks over these bad boys when you are soaking your feet to keep the mess to the minimum. That way you can still walk to the kitchen to get a snack and it helps lock the moisture in!

#4 Get a Foot File

Yes, it’s a cheese grater for your feet. Yes, it helps with dry skin! This is great for the weeks where you’re not doing a foot peel. I find it works best when my feet are dry instead of damp from a shower or sweaty (let’s be real here). If you paint your toes regularly or have your home pedicure routine from quarantine times, add this in and feel the baby smooth difference. Dry skin care pro tip: make sure to get one with a backing to help collect your dry skin for less mess.

#5 Aloe Face Masks

I have very sensitive skin and I find aloe face masks help to calm my skin the best. Aloe is a natural ingredient, and sometimes fewer chemicals the better when my skin is feeling finicky. If you have an aloe plant you can definitely use the gel for dry spots and burns, but I think it’s worth it to keep these on hand and not hack your beautiful house plants apart. Dry skin care pro tip: these are great to have for the summer too! If you get sunburn on your face, this is instant relief.

Dry Skin Care Item #6 Pimple Patches

In the winter my skin is dry and irritated and that means applying more products, sometimes new products, and I tend to touch my face a lot more which always causes breakouts. These little patches are a lifesaver. I’ve even seen beauty bloggers put on a pimple patch and apply their makeup over or around it. These are especially great if you tend to pick at your spots or if you want to keep an already popped pimple clean and dry. Dry skin care pro tip: if the pimple hasn’t popped yet I suggest poking it open first to get the full effect of the pimple sticker.

#7 Get a Humidifier

This baby is the real dry skin care MVP! I suggest keeping this in your room and turning it on at night while wearing a nighttime mask. That’s 8 whole hours of sleep where your skin is safe from the dry cold environment that’s been irritating it. Having a humidifier can also help you feel more hydrated, less congested, and is great for when you’ve got a cold.

#8 Night Time Hydrating Mask

Did you think I would really mention a sleeping mask and not link a good one for you? You know me better than that! Olay’s gel masks were huge on beauty youtube for a while, and for good reason! Protecting and nourishing your skin while you sleep helps so much for dry skin, especially if you wear makeup a lot. Wearing makeup frequently in the winter months with dry skin can be rough, but I promise this will help!

Dry Skin Care Product #9 Hydrating Lip Mask

Don’t forget your lips! Especially if you’re still wearing a mask at work or just out in the world in general, your lips will get so chapped and cracked in the cold! If you live in a snowy part of the world, you know just how rough it can be. In addition to having a great chapstick, this Laneige lip sleeping mask will keep your lips feeling kissable and baby soft. Check the reviews, they speak for themselves! Pro tip: I got mine at Marshall’s for a fraction of the price – their beauty section should not be ignored!
