Winter Psoriasis Tips

Fly Friends, you know that I’m passionate about connecting with my fellow psoriasis endurers and sharing all of my tips and tricks for soothing it. Here are six of my winter psoriasis tips for you! If you want to hear more about my psoriasis journey you can read about it in this blog post. If you want an overview of what psoriasis is and general information, read this post. These products can also help babes with eczema and dry or sensitive skin.

1. Aquaphor Winter Psoriasis Tips

Aquaphor is one of those products that helps with everything when it comes to dry or irritated skin. You can use it as chapstick, on a freshly done tattoo, and always on cracked skin or psoriasis plaques. It also comes in travel-sized tubes that you can keep in your bag for on-the-go relief. Aquaphor helps heal and protect the skin and reduce irritation. If you tend to pick or scratch at your skin, a layer of Aquaphor can really help.

2. Shea Sugar Scrub

An exfoliating shower scrub can really help reduce itching and helps flake off dead skin and create a more smooth skin surface. This scrub is one of my favorites. It helps soften plaques and remove extra skin flakes. Make sure to scrub gently!

3. Baby Powder Winter Psoriasis Tips

Baby powder is a game-changer! Often when sores form or skin opens up, it can ooze. This can cause your skin to stick to your clothes and undergarments, which is always uncomfortable and sometimes painful. You don’t want more damage done to your skin in the process of removing the fabric. To avoid sticking, dust any open or oozing spots with baby powder! This helps to soothe your skin and keep it safe and clean.

4. Buy A Humidifier

A humidifier is a great addition to any household, but especially if you have dry or easily irritated skin! It also helps with congestion and cold symptoms. Between the cold air outside and the dry unnatural heat inside, your skin is really going through it in the winter. Introducing more water into the air helps keep your skin less irritated and can help prevent flare-ups.

5. Epsom Salt Baths

LINKED HERE $30

Epsom salt baths really help with psoriatic arthritis inflammation. The salt can sting a bit if you have any recently scratched patches, so I like to do it first thing in the morning after I’ve been sleeping and not scratching all night. Make sure to use a heavy-duty moisturizer after your bath!

6. Aloe Vera Sheet Masks Winter Psoriasis Tips

LINKED HERE $14

Aloe vera is a natural ingredient, so it’s less likely to irritate your skin. It also has a wonderful cooling effect. Even more so if you keep these mask packs in the fridge! This really helps to soothe psoriasis patches on your face and can be a nice cooling and moisturizing break from feeling cracked or dry. I hope this post helps my fellow psoriasis-enduring babes out there!
