Fly Friends, are you looking for the best budget-friendly affordable plus size clothing? I’ve put together a list of my favorite brands to shop for cheap plus size clothes. Of course, fast fashion has its downfalls, but it is important to remember that for plus size people who already have the most sparse clothing options, adding budget limitations to the mix can’t always be seen through the lens of moral consumption values.
While sustainability is hugely important, at the end of the day it is on big brands to step up and adopt more sustainable practices, not on the shoulders of the individual. You can 100% sustainable practices to your everyday life where you can and make a difference! But if your budget prevents fashion from being one of those practices, don’t beat yourself up. You need to find clothing in your size at a price that you can afford and that is already hard enough!
Sustainable Queen
If you are aiming to be a sustainable queen, you can always shop secondhand! This is a great way to add new (to you) pieces to your wardrobe at a lower price. You can hit up in-person and online secondhand sellers like The Plus Bus, where you can find many of the items you’ve seen here from my closet! There’s also Cake Plus Size Resale, ThredUp, Poshmark, and Depop for all of your secondhand shopping needs! Your favorite bloggers and influencers may also do Instagram story sales, so always keep an eye out for those!
Target Affordable Plus Size Clothing
I love Target for cute and affordable trendy and classic plus size pieces like these plus size corduroy pants, classic plus size buttons downs, plus size denim, and plus size activewear. It’s always nice to have a brick and mortar store that you can shop at if you’re ever in a pinch. If you lose your bags while traveling or need something last minute, Target is the answer! There is always a Target around somewhere and they carry up to a size 32.
Walmart
Another store where you can shop in person and they can be found everywhere! Walmart has be repping for plus size for a long time, and they’ve gotten more and more fashion forward over the past few years. They now carry Eloquii Elements, Terra & Sky, Levi’s, and Scoop. These are all brands with trendy pieces at low prices. If you’re looking for accessible cheap plus size clothing, don’t sleep on Walmart!
Amazon Affordable Plus Size Clothing
Amazon is a great place to find affordable plus size clothing if you know how to filter and where to look! After a while you’ll find your favorite brands and shops and know exactly where to look! I always recommend checking out the Amazon The Drop section to see what influencer or celeb has recently done a line with Amazon. There are always trendy pieces like this animal print midi-length plus size slip skirt. I also love the brand Daily Ritual where you’ll find great basics like this plus size t-shirt dress. There are even some designer pieces to be found on Amazon, like this amazing Donna Morgan dress or this Calvin Klein button-down. These pieces are often on sale or sold for lower than they are on the designer website!
Old Navy
Old navy is known for having the best cheap plus size denim! They now carry up to a size 26 in stores and up to a size 30 online. They also carry the cutest easy-wear plus size dresses, tons of cheap good quality plus size basics, and their plus size activewear game is through the roof this year! If you shop online or through their app they sometimes have an extra online-only coupon code to save you even more money!
H&M
Do you know that H&M has a plus size section online now? Despite not seeing much advertising for their plus size pieces *rolls eyes,* it is a pretty great selection! H&M carries ffordable plus size clothing up to a size 4X and has tons of trendy pieces like checkered print, dresses with fun cut-outs, oversized shirt dresses, and knit mini skirts! If you’re looking for affordable trendy pieces that you feel like you’ve only seen in straight-sized stores, check out H&M’s plus size section!
Boohoo
Boohoo is a UK retailer that sells up to a size 24. Even though this isn’t my favorite size range ever, the prices are definitely worth mentioning! They do tons of sales and carry lots of trendy pieces like two-piece sets, jumpsuits, colorful suits, and even occasionwear. Remember to check if the style you’re looking at is in US or UK sizing while shopping! Typically, your UK size will be 2 sizes higher than your US size. Not everything they carry is in the UK sizing, so make sure to double check.
