Delicious Meal Delivery in San Diego
FTC: These meals were gifted to me in exchange for this blog post but all thoughts and opinions about the meals are my own. I was gifted seven meals total but I only ate the meals that were both gluten and dairy free as I have excluded those foods from my diet for medical reasons.
When Meal Prep Sunday approached me about gifting some meals in exchange for a blog post I was SO excited! The first thing I asked – are they gluten and dairy free? The answer is EVERYTHING is always gluten free and some meals are without dairy. I was told if you’re a subscriber and let them know your preferences they are able to work with you but since my meals were not prepped for me ahead of time I got what they had. Thankfully of the seven meals they sent, five were both gluten and dairy free!
I gave my boyfriend one meal (quiche) and a friend the other (salmon). The other five I ate, and will review here. Spoiler alert – they are sooooo good!!! So delicious in fact that I requested a discount code so I could offer it to anyone interested in trying their service. I might even use it myself to be honest… so if you’d like to try some meals for yourself you can get 55% off your first order when you use the code Victoria over at Meal Prep Sunday.
In case you’re curious about their plans I will include a screenshot down below so you can see if there’s one that is right for you!
I almost forgot to mention – their meals are never frozen, fully organic produce, free-range chicken, and grass-fed beef all provided by their local suppliers! You can even customize your plan based on your health goals. So without further ado….
First meal up for review was this delicious sausage hash! It had peppers, onions, potatoes, sausage and an over easy egg. The little cups had mozarella and strawberry yogurt which I didn’t eat. The sausage was a little spicy for my taste but that’s just because I am a whimp when it comes to spicy things! This meal would be great with some salsa or avocado if you’re looking to take it over the edge. Overall I give this meal a 9 out of 10.
Next up is this steak meal – not pictured is the cup of herb butter it came with. I didn’t realize it was butter so I had it with my meal on accident and holy crap it was amazing. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the meat was so tasty. There was a little bit of fat that I had to cut away but that’s the name of the game with steak! Next time around if I had this meal I would use a butter alternative to stay dairy free or maybe add some A1 sauce for some flavor and moisture. Since I ate this meal with the butter I will rate it with the butter and this meal gets a 10 out of 10 it was THAT good!
Note – the butter had bug chunks of garlic so if you’re eating it at work bring some mint gum for after! Or if you want your coworkers to stay away then disregard that tip.
So out of all the meals I had this one was probably my least favorite, let me tell you why… The sauce was too mustardy. Everything was still very tasty and the pork definitely needed the moisture. My biggest issue, though, was the broccoli didn’t seem seasoned at all so it was very bland. You can easily just add some garlic salt and you’re good to go! Overall I liked this meal and give it an 8 out of 10.
This meal was so tasty and seasoned really well! The chicken was tender and underneath it was a mix of rice with bell peppers, onion and corn. I am not totally sure what the sauce was but it was very yummy and had corn in it as well – it’s very possible the sauce had a dairy base but it was worth it and definitely brightened up the meal. I would give this one a 9 out of 10!
Last but not least is this ground turkey meal, it was kind of like a shepherds pie. I was so excited to try it I forgot to take a picture until I was already eating it! This meal was layered with potato, ground turkey and veggies like peas, carrots and corn. It came with a gravy for the top and holy moly it was amazing! This is my favorite meal out of all of them and I wish I could just buy a bunch of these for lunches to bring to work. That said you know I gotta give this one a 10 out of 10!
